Who defines the normal?
The following writing is some revelation and teaching I received a while back during evening church service from the youth pastor. In Rom. 12:2 the Bible states that we must not conform to the world but our mind must be renewed so that we will be able to discern the will of God. So here is a question that was asked to us.
What do you think of during the day? With what are your thoughts occupied with? The things we think about determine our lives and also where we are heading in our life. A mind renewed by God’s Spirit and led by God’s Spirit will make the best possible decision in any circumstance because he will be tapping into the unfathomable wisdom of God. This mind will be constantly thinking about God and what is on His heart. This mind will be constantly asking the Holy Spirit for guidance and this mind will listen when God speaks.
Isa 61:1-3 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; Isa 61:2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favour, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; Isa 61:3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion-- to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified. So when the Spirit of the Lord comes upon us, we are enabled to do great things through His power.
What defines a normal Christian?1 John 3:8 says this…The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. So if we are to be Christ-minded and striving to be like Christ that means we must carry on doing His works…destroying the works of the devil. John 10:10... the enemy comes to steal and destroy but Jesus came to bring life and in abundance. According to Matt 6:10 when we pray we must ask God to transform the earth to look like heaven. We must serve a dying world with the unconditional love of Christ, we must be a guiding light in the dark abyss that satan has created. Psa 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, Psa 103:3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, We are commissioned and equipped to go and serve the nations, love them and show them God’s immense and great love for them.
The same spirit that raised Christ from the dead is flowing in us... Mat 10:7 and proclaim as you go, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' Mat 10:8 heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.
Yes you read right the first time…if we have the Holy Spirit we can heal the sick, raise the dead and according to the following scripture do more than Jesus even did on earth. This is coming straight from scripture. How awesome is that? John 14:12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Joh 14:13 whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Joh 14:14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
What would it take to redefine normal? Are we ready to renew our minds and become more Christ like. Why do we go to church on a Sunday? CHURCH should be a celebration of the victories we gain during the week. It should not merely be a social get together where we listen to the pastor preach and have coffee afterwards. It should be a pit stop for strategizing and making sure we are still on the same track. Winning souls for the Kingdom of God. Are we ready to step up to the plate and serve God by serving this world with the immense power of His Love? Are we ready to take the reins and let God be manifested wherever we go? Are we ready to take authority over life and disease and satan’s works.
Are we ready for battle?
Today I want to ask God for a revelation of His power to me, to give me an absolute vision of what He wants me to do. To make me effective where I work and play and to guide me to the life He has prepared for me. A life of battle, a life of engaging the enemy where we see the destruction and a life of serving a hopeless nation with such an incredible love that any amount of hate will just melt in its presence! PRAISE GOD!
